Type Rating Course Cessna Citation Jet 560 XL/XLS/XLS+

Requirements for the – Type Rating Course Cessna 560 XL / XLS XLS+ – C-560 XL/XLS PIC-IR or COPI-IR
Approved Cours as per EU- reg. 1178/2011; part FCL.720.A; FCL.745.A Class- and Type Rating List of EASA
An applicant for a type-rating shall complete a training course at an ATO. The type rating training course shall include the mandatory training elements for the relevant type as defined in the operational suitability data established in accordance with Part-21 acc. FCL.725 (a), OSD report always in the latest version.
Unless otherwise determined in the operational suitability data established in accordance with Annex I (Part-21) to Regulation (EU) No 748/2012 (OSD), applicants for the issue of a class or type rating shall comply with the following experience requirements and prerequisites for the issue of the relevant rating:
b) Multi-pilot aeroplanes Applicants for the issue of the first type rating course for a multi-pilot aeroplane shall be student pilots currently undergoing training on an MPL training course or comply with the following requirements:
(1) have at least 70 hours of flight experience as PIC in aeroplanes;
(2) hold or have held a multi-engine IR(A);
3) have passed the ATPL(A) theoretical knowledge examinations in accordance with this Part-FCL;
(4) except when the type rating course is combined with an MCC course:
(i) hold a certificate of satisfactory completion of an MCC course in aeroplanes; or
(ii) hold a certificate of satisfactory completion of MCC in helicopters and have more than 100 hours of flight experience as pilots of multi-pilot helicopters; or
(iii) have at least 500 hours as pilots of multi-pilot helicopters; or
(iv) have at least 500 hours as pilots in multi-pilot operations on single-pilot multiengine aeroplanes, in commercial air transport in accordance with the applicable air operations requirements; and
(5) have completed the training course specified in FCL.745.A. / UPRT ADVANCE
(c) –
(d) When so determined in the OSD, the exercise of the privileges of a type rating may be initially limited to flight under the supervision of an instructor. The flight hours under supervision shall be entered in the pilots‘ logbook or equivalent record and signed by the instructor. The limitation shall be removed when pilots demonstrate that the hours of flight under supervision required in the OSD have been completed.
Additionally BAFS ATO is offering to all pilots completing initial type rating training for the C- 560 XL/XLS series within our Organization, that those pilots should perform a minimum of 10 route sectors of LIFUS, followed by a 2 route sector line check or an equivalent amount of SOE, with one of our high qualified and experienced TRI/TRE on type, before the Operational / Company LIFUS training starts.
Additionally the ATO advice that LIFUS should be performed in accordance with Part-ORO, ORO. FC.220 and AMC1 ORO.FC.220(e), same as the OEM holder published OSD report. Furthermore, GM1 ORO.FC.220(d) provides guidelines for operators to use when establishing their individual requirements.
Where there is a change of operating conditions or route structure this should be taken into account and may need additional route sectors to cover these elements. as per part FCL.710 and EASA OSD / ODR diff. list in their latest version published by OEM holder on the valid EASA homepage.

Specifications for Pilot Training
C560 XL, C560 XLS, or C560 XLS+ Initial Type Rating Training
[AMC] Familiarisation training between the C560 XL and the C560 XLS will be integrated in C-560 XL/XLS initial type rating training at BAFS ATO;

  • Aeroplane System Instruction
  • Performance, Flight Planning, Mass and Balance Emergency Instruction
  • Practical Training
  • Flight Instruction Overview
  • FFS Sessions (24 Hours)
  • Flight Training

Pilots will be for sure trained up to proficiency. Additional practical training may be required for pilots without previous EFIS / FMS and turbo-jet experience. Ask for more details please.

A minimum of 24 hours of practical training, plus 04:00 h LST, in the FFS is acceptable for pilots with previous EFIS/FMS and Jet experience.

Pilot without this experience have to fulfil the 32 hrs training, plus 04:00 h LST, in the FFS,

Landing training on the aircraft will be done at the end of the training (after successful pass of LST), consisting of 4 to 6 Take off and Landings, if requested by the customer / client on your company owned or BAFS ATO associated aircraft, with our well experienced and highly qualified TRI / TRE.

Base training on the Citation XL may be substituted by training on Citation XLS and vice – versa.
